Tools I Use
The following is a non-comprehensive list of tools I use frequently for both personal and professional use cases.
- Browser: Firefox
- Email: Fastmail for 90% of my email needs. However, I do have my own mail server using Stalwart for FeedPigeon mail delivery. Shout-out to Thunderbird for my desktop client.
- GUI Code Editor: Zed or VS Code
- Database Tool: DBeaver
- Password Manager: KeePassXC (MacOS) and KeePass2Android (Android)
- Notes: Fastmail Notes (for the bulk of my day-to-day notes) and Obsidian (for more complex notes that require tables or images)
- Task Manager: Fastmail CalDav tasks with tasks.org
- Calendar: Fastmail Calendar with Fossify Calendar (Android) and Apple Calendar synced over CalDav (MacOS)
- Blogging & Website Platform: BōcPress
- Screenshot Tool: Lightshot
- FTP/SFTP Tool: FileZilla
